He is a nationally recognized trainer
in the “IAP Advanced Life
Support” (IAP-ALS) courses and “IAP Basic Life Support” courses (IAP-BLS) of

Indian Academy of Pediatrics since
1995.
He has trained hundreds of Pediatricians
across the country in IAP ALS and BLS courses.
Has held various offices of the IAP ALS
group since 1997, in the north zone as well as at the National Level.
He has been the ‘Joint National Convener’
for years 2009-2010 and then the ‘National Convener’ for the years 2011-2012 of
the IAP PALS group.
He has developed the IAP ALS module based
on the 2010 guidelines of the AHA.
He has also developed the IAP BLS modules
which not only cater the need of the doctors and nurses,
but also for the lay persons.
Basic Life Support can be a life saving intervention for the
needy in an emergency situation and
by learning this simple skill through the
“IAP-BLS mass awareness program”, even a non
medical person can easily provide this help.
He has authored IAP ALS Instructor course
manual
He has also designed IAP ALS Mass Awareness
Program for General Practitioners and pediatricians who are unable to get
formal training in IAP ALS courses. this uses simple checklist approach to
identify and triage and institute appropriate interventions to save life of
sick child.
He has developed a Medical Emergency
Management for School Children and Child Safety (IAP-MEMS & Child safety)
module for preparing and training school teachers to manage common medical
emergencies at schools.
Other
teaching activities
Apart from providing training through the various programs of IAP PALS
group,
Dr Taneja is involved in providing training
in the “IAP- Basic Pediatric Intensive Care Course” across the country.
He has also been training the fellow
pediatricians in the Respiratory Infections through the “RTI-GEM” Module of the
IAP.
He has been the part of team of trainers for
the “GEM” (the Golden Hour Emergency Management) courses,
the Asthma Training Module courses,
the Computer Group Training
program,
APLS courses, IAP SOS HOPE courses, IAP
National Tuberculosis Eradication Program of GOI and
Emergency Medicine courses at various
hospitals and Medical Colleges across the country.
Professional
& Organizational activities
He has organized many conferences through the
IAP East Delhi branch
for which he has held the office of
Secretary as well as the President.
Some of which include the Neonatology
conference, the Neurology conference, the monthly meetings of the IAP East
Delhi.
He is at present
the secretary of the IAP Infectious
disease chapter of the Delhi and NCR.
He has organized conferences
on infectious diseases in
association with the Ghaziabad and NOIDA branches of the IAP.
He also organized conferences on
Swine flu, Dengue fever and Tuberculosis,
where experts from all over the
country were invited and shared their experiences on these important diseases.

to present lectures on important
topics in conferences and meetings across the country.
He has spoken on vast subjects including
Antibiotic use in office practice,
Antibiotic use in Intensive care, Complementary Feeding of Infant and young
child, Breast feeding, Rotavirus vaccinations, Pneumococcal vaccinations,
Influenza vaccinations, Child hood Asthma, Malaria, Dengue fever, High Blood
Pressure in children and many more subjects at different occasions.
