A well-known senior paediatrician, known across the country for his teaching. He has cared for children from birth to 18 since 1985.

Practice
He worked at Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi from 1989 to 1990. Since 1991 he has run this clinic with his wife, Dr Renu Taneja.
He helped Shanti Nursing Home become the first Baby Friendly Hospital in East Delhi. He has been at Max Hospital, IP Extension since it opened in 2005. Other paediatricians across the city often ask him for a second opinion.

Teaching
He has trained hundreds of paediatricians across India in life support since 1995, through the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.

- Wrote the IAP Advanced Life Support instructor manual
- Built the IAP Basic Life Support course, for doctors, nurses and ordinary people
- Built a course for school teachers on handling medical emergencies at school
- Teaches paediatric intensive care, chest infections and asthma courses nationwide

- Has organised conferences on swine flu, dengue and tuberculosis
